Daily Schedule

Child Care

 

 

6:30 – 8:35 a.m.           Arrival/Learning Centers/AM Snack  AM Snack is offered and served if children choose until 7:40 am.

 

8:35 – 8:40 a.m.           Transition 

           

8:40 – 9:00 a.m.           Circle Time (Review Second Step Lesson of the Day, Mighty Minutes Activity of the Day, Letters of the Week                                      and Music w/daily songs and Instruments.) 

 

9:00 – 9:20 a.m.           Breakfast & Sharing Time  

                       

9:20 – 10:30 a.m.          Learning Centers 

 

10:30-10:35 a.m.           Transition 

 

10:35 -11:00 a.m.           Morning Meeting (In small groups, the Creative Curriculum Lesson & Activity of the Day are completed.  The                                           Question of the Day is discussed. Playground Rules and large motor/outdoor choices are reviewed before                                               transitioning to large motor/outdoor play)     

11:00 – 11: 35 a.m.          Large Motor/Outdoor Play (Playground play or indoor alternative)

 

11:35 – 11:40 a.m.           Transition (Children are called in WITH A COOLDOWN activity to move children to Read-Aloud.)

 

11:40 – 11:55 a.m.            Read-Aloud 

11:55-12:00 p.m.              Transition

12:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.    Lunch & Sharing Time (Children bring lunch from home and milk is provided.  Lunches are heated at request                                          of parents.  Teachers and children engage in conversation at their small group tables about healthy habits and                                        table manners)

                       

12:30 – 12:50 p.m.           Small Group Age-Differentiated Activity Time (Follow suggestion on Block Plan for Yellow, Green, and Blue.                                           End Small Group with a review of Playground Rules and Large Motor/Outdoor choices.  Use planned transition                                         activity from your lesson to move children to Large Motor/Outdoor Time.) Note: Small flexible group lessons                                         are planned based on the developmental needs of the children.

12:50 – 1:20 p.m.              Large Motor/Outdoor Play 

                                                                                     

1:20 – 1:30 p.m.                Transition/Cool Down (Cool Down activity is planned to transition children to nap/rest time. Children are                                                encouraged to use the bathroom during this time.)

 

1:30 – 3:30 p.m.                Nap/Rest Time (Children are expected to nap or rest quietly on their cots during this time. Teachers                                                    provide individual attention as needed to encourage this.)

 

3:30 – 3:45 p.m.                Floor Time/Snack & Sharing Time (Children are gently encouraged to wake up, use the bathroom, wash                                                hands and prepare for either Floor or Snack Time. At least two food groups will be provided. Teachers and                                              children engage in conversation about healthy habits and table manners)

 

3:45 – 4:00 p.m.                Large-Group Roundup & Read-Aloud (Read and Review today’s book and use Might Minutes Activities of the                                           Day. Review Second Step Focus of the week.) 

           

4:00 – 4:25 p.m.               Large Motor/Outdoor Play 

 

4:25 – 4:30 p.m.               Transition 

 

4:30 – 5:00 p.m.                Learning Centers (Children choose from select play experiences with the high school students facilitating.)

 

5:00 p.m.                          Dismissal/Center Closed
